Martin Luther King Day Beach Walk

Bill Sargent will lead a 60-minute tour of Plum Island’s North Point Beach on Martin Luther King’s day, Monday, January 21st at 10 AM. Meet at the North Point parking lot. Bring cameras, curiosity and a keen sense of humor.
Discover horseshoe crabs, wooly mammoth, ducks, seals and who knows, perhaps a snowy owl.

View the effects of erosion that is removing 30 feet off the dunes every month.
Investigate the Coast Guard archeology site and speculate on whether some of the artifacts could have been used to set U-boat nets across the Merrimack River.
Compare man’s effort’s to slow erosion with nature’s sand machine that has created an extensive new beach that is helping to protect homes on Northern Reservation Terrace.
