The Hellcat Trail at Parker River National Wildlife Refuge will be closed to all public access effective Monday, December 23^rd in order to facilitate the replacement of the entire boardwalk system that supports the trail.  The existing trail, both the marsh and dune loops, will be closed for the duration of the project, which is expected to take up to a year.

During the Hellcat Trail boardwalk closure, visitors may walk a variety of other boardwalks and trails on the refuge – including a new trail to the tip of Stage Island. Additionally, there are six miles of ocean beach to enjoy through the fall, winter, and early spring months.
