This morning’s edition of the Newburyport Daily News had the following article:
“PLUM ISLAND””MARKEY TO VISIT DREDGE SITES”
The article quotes the Mayor of Newburyport, Sean Reardon:
“The project will see 220,000 to 300,000 cubic yards of sand dredged from the Merrimack and Piscataqua Rivers and placed on Plum Island to add more than 400 feet of beachfront to rebuild Reservation Terrace.”
This is, at best, a temporary Fix. The longer term fix is to reposition the South Jetty.
